I am a prolific reader and in recent years have taken a real shining to audiobooks as I find that they offer more freedom.
In this blog post I will share some of my favourite books and authors of the last year or two with you. Most have been released in the last few years.
I love stories with characters that I can really connect with and enjoy reading about issues that are real. Life isn’t a fairy tale!

Amanda Prowse – real topics in beautiful stories including miscarriages, eating disorders, etc. Easy reading. My favourite: The food of Love.

Kristin Hannah – epic sagas and stories usually over a life span about the struggles of a main character who has faced extreme adversities. Heavy and deep. My absolute fave: The Nightingale.
Colleen Hoover – popular, powerful and exciting stories. Outside the box storytelling. Best book ever for me: Verity.

Frederick Backman – beautiful, heartfelt tales including heart breaking stories. My favourites: A Man Called Ove and Things my Son needs to know about life.
Jodi Picoult – varied and hard hitting issues, rich characters and beautiful story telling. My total favourite: Small, great things.

So there you have it! I hope you’re inspired to try one of my top 5.
